The newest word sits right here, a little larger, then settles back into the page as the next one arrives.

Why I made Mumble

I think out loud. But the dictation built into my iPhone kept letting me down. It mishears words, drops whole phrases, stops listening mid-thought and leaves a wall of unpunctuated text to fix by hand.

Good ideas shouldn’t depend on a speech model that gives up halfway through a sentence. So I built something sturdier: a modern, more accurate speech engine that keeps up as you talk, a fallback that keeps listening if the connection drops, and one tap to turn the ramble into a clean, punctuated note.

— Faisal, maker of Mumble

Mumble for Chrome.

Mac dictation has the same problems on a laptop: it mishears names, times out mid-sentence and leaves you fixing punctuation. Mumble for Chrome puts the same listening page one click away while you work, so you can talk through an email, a doc or a ticket and paste a clean note where you need it.

  • Draft emails and replies by talking
  • Capture meeting thoughts before they fade
  • Tidy a ramble, then paste it anywhere
  • Your History, synced with your phone
